===============
This year, I will be attending this fantastic festival for the fourth time. And I have two houses right on the Manga, where we are staying with a number of people. We also offer options for people who have booked their own hotels. If you are in need of a personal guide who knows the event and all the breeders, and would also like to take a ride on the famous MANGA yourself once, then this is for you!
You can choose the first weekend, where it is still a bit quieter with the number of people coming. Or for the second weekend where it is buzzing with people and parties. We will go for a ride on a Lusitano across the Manga, visit Gilberto Filipe and Manuel Veiga in their stables to admire the horses, among others. And best of all, we will visit several great breeders for snacks and drinks and a look at their horses.
Highlights
- Experience for yourself what it is like to ride along during this unique exhibition on a 1.5-hour ride on the Manga
- Meet & greet at stables with Gilberto Filipe, the World Working Equitation Champion
- Visit the stand of several large well-known breeders for snacks and drinks

The fair is always in November, over a period of 10 days and its main date is November 11, the feast of Saint Martin. On this day, people eat roasted chestnuts and drink new wine. During the festival, many people dress up in traditional Portuguese equestrian attire. During these days, the whole town of Golegã changes from its usual sleepy state to a madhouse of horses, carriages, food stalls and music. The air filled with the smoke of roasted chestnuts and barbecues. It is a celebration enjoyed by locals and foreign visitors alike. From late afternoon until the early hours, the streets are packed with Lusitano enthusiasts. There is a wide range of traditional eateries, restaurants, bars and cafes, discos that stay open all night. There is also an extravaganza of shops with wonderful stalls, from traditional clothes to toys, traditional drinks and food, works of art and even antiques.
